Satday, Happy Satday

Kinda had the U2 song in my head "Sunday, Bloody Sunday."  That seemed a bit morbid, so I changed it to something a bit happier.

Miles commuted this week:  27.  Nothing to write home about, but far better than a big fat 0. Right?

Today's quote:
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: Everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

Good friends and good times last night.
Went to a friend's house and ate some dinner and played some Rock Band.  Man- that game is FUN!  I need to buy it so  I can get really good then go over to their house and rock out!  As it currently stands, I only partially rock out... but such is the theme of my life:  "I partially rock."

I *really* wanted to go on an overnight camping trip today, but my hubs is such a worry-wart, he didn't want me to go.  He's afraid I'll get run off the road, or kidnapped or raped and beaten in the campground.  Rubbish!!  I'm the one who's the worry-wart, so why does he fret so much when I'm not scared at ALL??  I don't know.  I love that he worries about me, but dammit- I want adventure!!!  I'm never going to be allowed to ride across the country if he keeps worrying about me.
So my solution:  I'm going to camp in my backyard tonight.  Yes, like a little kid.  I really need to test out the tent and make sure it's easy to set up, take down, and generally comfy enough for the Grand Canyon.  I need a shakedown campout.  Stupid- yes!  But it appeases him, so I guess I'll do it.  One of these days I'm going to just get on my bike and ride and he won't be able to stop me... so there!!

Today is Farmer's Market day.  Yipeeeee!!!!  I need milk, cheese, bread, veggies, etc.  I think today I'll begin to build my raised garden bed.  I'll try a little one at first to see if I can sustain it.  If I can grow things- I'll move onto bigger and better beds.  Woo hoo for gardening!!!

Later, gators.

Have you heard of the Oklahoma Food Coop? I'm a member and it's a great way to get all kinds of local foods and other items. Some are organic but all are made locally. If you're interested you can find out more about them here:
